What's Under Your Roof?

There's a Monster under your roof and it may have VOIDED your your Roof's Warranty!  Protect your home so you are not left unprotected!

You may have feared monsters hiding under your bed as a kid.  Today, as a homeowner, another type of monster should concern you.  It's called a Money Monster, and this creature lives in your attic and attacks you and your roof!

What is this Money Monster?  It's improper attic ventilation, and more than 9 out of 10 homes in North America suffer from it!  Your roof needs constant air flow to keep cool in the summer and dry in the winter.  When your roof isn't properly ventilated your shingle manufacturer's warranty becomes VOID!  Improper ventilation also can create a number of other costly problems, such as:

  • HIGHER ENERGY BILLS- In the summer, improperly ventilated attics get extremely hot.  The added heat forces its way through the ceiling causing your air conditioner to work extra hard to keep your home cool.  The more often your A/C runs, the higher your utility bills will be each month.
  • MOISTURE & MILDEW GROWTH- Improperly ventilated attics also trap humidity.  The moisture in the air attaches itself to inside your attic and becomes a breeding ground for mildew and mold.  It can become a serious health hazard.
  • FRIED SHINGLES- Your shingles can handle the sun's strong rays.  When your attic isn't properly ventilated, shingles are being exposed to extreme heat from both outside and inside.  The added heat "fries" your shingles; they crack and split, and they no longer can protect your home.
  • ICE DAMS- In cold winter climates, improper ventilation melts snow and refreezes it, creating ice dams.  Ice dams trap water causing it to pool on your roof.  The pool saturates your roof and can leak into your attic and eventually your ceiling resulting in expensive damage.
